Healthcare Technology Innovator

My career includes the development and deployment of a variety of innovative healthcare technology applications that today are considered commonplace.

e-prescribing – I designed and led the development and deployment of the country’s first independent hub for electronic prescribing. This technology allowed the exchange of prescription data between prescribers, pharmacies, and payers in an environment that was not owned by one of the key stakeholders.

Retail distribution of donated medicine - I was an advisor/member of the senior management team that designed and developed the country’s first model of distributing donated medicine to the nation's uninsured and underinsured. Working with federal regulatory bodies and the nation’s leading drug manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, this new business model enables patients to use a conventional card mechanism to receive donated medicine at their local community pharmacy

Real-time drug co-pay - I designed and developed the country’s first system that delivered patient prescription co-pay information in real-time at the pharmacy point of service. Using small footprint credit card swiping devices, this solution enabled the implementation of tiered co-pay models in prescription benefits.
